    		• Peter Berk is a Managing Director of the firm and President of the AFC Hotel Finance Group. He joined the firm in 2003, and has played an integral role in establishing the firm’s hospitality practice as a national leader in hotel financing with an emphasis on the limited and select service hotel markets. Mr. Berk’s primary responsibilities include raising debt and equity capital for hotel owners. In that capacity, Mr. Berk has financed in excess of $2 billion worth of hotel assets for both entrepreneurial and institutional clients representing over 20,000 hotel rooms. Mr. Berk has financed both full and limited service brands for every major hotel chain, including: Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Starwood, Choice Hotels and Wyndham.

    Some recent financing transactions, include: the $110 million acquisition loan for the Intercontinental Hotel in New York City, $100 million recapitalization loan comprised of 15 properties for JHM Hotels, $52M portfolio loan for Kinseth Hospitality, $14 million loan for the Staybridge Suites at BWI Airport, $16 million loan for the Courtyard by Marriot in Dallas, $7 million loan for the Hampton Inn & Suites Albuquerque, NM and $15 million loan for the Holiday Inn in San Francisco, CA.     Prior to joining AFC, Mr. Berk was Director of Capital Markets at Sonnenblick-Goldman Company and prior to that worked at Jones Lang LaSalle in the acquisitions area. Mr. Berk received his Bachelors of Accountancy from George Washington University and his Masters in Real Estate Investment & Development from Columbia University. Mr. Berk is active in the New York Hospitality Council, Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) and the Mortgage Bankers Association. He has written numerous articles on hotel financing for industry publications and is a frequent speaker at hotel conferences on current financing trends. Mr. Berk is a resident of Manhattan where he lives with his wife and daughter.
